Frequently Asked Questions

  • When starting at Kids-Time, you should Expect 2–3 short visits, often with parents staying. For younger children, nurseries recommend even more gradual sessions over weeks. We believe the child should lead.
  • Staff may ask you to stay in the building while your child plays and gradually reduce your time there.

Typically, you’ll need to provide a change of clothes (including underwear), nappies and wipes, nappy cream, and any comfort items your child uses. Some nurseries may also request a bottle. Children can also attend having a packed lunch each day at the setting, or Kids-Time are able to provide meals; this can all be discussed more on our show around.

As a nursery, we use digital platforms called Famly to share daily updates, photos, and developmental milestones. Regular communication with your child’s key worker is also standard practice.

A key worker is a designated staff member responsible for your child’s well-being, development, and learning journey. They build a trusting relationship with your child and serve as your main point of contact.

Nursery staff typically have qualifications ranging from Level 2 to Level 3 in Early Years Education. As a company, we also invest in ongoing professional development to ensure staff are up-to-date with best practices.

We are extremely accommodating of dietary needs and allergies. It’s important to discuss any specific requirements with the nursery staff on registrations to ensure appropriate measures are in place, and the chef will be able to make and accommodate meals for your little one.

While routines can vary, a typical day includes a mix of structured activities, free play, outdoor time, meals, and rest periods. This structure helps children feel secure and supports their development. Especially under 2s. They adapt to each child’s routine, whether breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or progressing through weaning. Some even store expressed breast milk and consult parents on dietary transitions.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, focusing on areas like communication, physical development, and personal, social, and emotional growth. Activities are designed to be engaging and developmentally appropriate.

Staff-to-child ratios are regulated to ensure safety and quality care. For children under 2 years, the ratio is 1:3; for 2-year-olds, it’s 1:5; and for children aged 3 and over, it’s 1:8.
